When should I leave for the airport?
Choose where you’re staying and your flight time. We’ll suggest a pick-up time that leaves room for check-in and security.
A suggestion, not a guarantee. Always check your airline’s check-in and bag-drop deadlines, and add extra time in July and August.
How we work it out
We start from your flight time, take off the time you need at the airport (two hours for Schengen flights, two and a half for the UK and other non-Schengen flights), then the longest usual drive time from your area and a ten-minute margin.
Early morning and summer flights
The first wave of departures, from about 6 to 9 a.m., has the longest security queues in summer. For those flights, consider adding another 15 to 30 minutes.
Book your return with your arrival
Choosing a return trip in the booking form saves you from arranging it on holiday. Add your departure flight, and we’ll confirm the pick-up time with you a day or two before.
