Where to catch the bus
All buses leave from the new public transport area outside arrivals, on floor 0, opened in July 2025. EMT buses also stop on floor 2 (departures) on the way to the airport. There are two operators:
- EMT Palma (red buses): A1 to Palma city centre and A2 to Can Pastilla, Playa de Palma and S’Arenal.
- TIB (Aerotib, the island network): A11 to the south-west coast, A32 to Alcúdia and Can Picafort, A42 to Manacor and Cala Millor, and A51 to S’Arenal, Llucmajor and Campos.
A1 and A2: Palma and Playa de Palma
- A1 – Palma city centre. Every 15 minutes, with departures from the airport between 05:30 and 01:15, plus night buses at 02:15 and 03:10. Main stops: Palau de Congressos, Porta des Camp, Plaça d’Espanya and Passeig Mallorca.
- A2 – Can Pastilla, Playa de Palma and S’Arenal. Every 35 minutes, with departures from the airport between 06:15 and 01:15.
Both lines only carry passengers travelling to or from the airport. A single ticket costs €5 in cash on board (the driver gives change for notes up to €10), and it is cheaper with a bank card, tapped as you board. Children under 5 travel free with an adult.
TIB buses to the resorts
- A11 – Palmanova, Magaluf, Santa Ponça, Peguera, Camp de Mar. All year, roughly every 35–40 minutes in summer, from 08:25 to 00:05. About 40 minutes to Palmanova, 50 to Magaluf, 60 to Santa Ponça and 70 to Peguera.
- A32 – Inca, Alcúdia, Port d’Alcúdia, Playa de Muro, Can Picafort. Summer only, until 31 October 2026, roughly every 45–60 minutes, from 07:55 to 00:05. About 55 minutes to Alcúdia, 60 to Port d’Alcúdia, 70 to Playa de Muro and 90 to Can Picafort.
- A42 – Manacor, Porto Cristo, S’Illot, Sa Coma, Cala Millor, Cala Bona. Summer only, until 31 October 2026, roughly every 45–55 minutes, from 07:40 to 23:55. About 45 minutes to Manacor and 80 to Cala Millor.
- A51 – S’Arenal, Llucmajor, Campos. All year, every hour, from 05:35 to 23:40.
There is no direct bus from the airport to Sóller, Pollença or Cala d’Or: you have to change in Palma.
TIB fares and how to pay
TIB airport lines have their own fares, depending on how far you go. TIB recommends paying with a contactless bank card, which is much cheaper than cash:
- S’Arenal: €2.70 by card, €4.50 in cash.
- Palmanova, Magaluf, Santa Ponça or Peguera: €4.05 by card, €6.75 in cash.
- Camp de Mar or Inca: €5.40 by card, €9.00 in cash.
- Alcúdia, Playa de Muro, Can Picafort, Cala Millor or Porto Cristo: €8.10 by card, €13.50 in cash.
With a card, tap when you get on and again when you get off; if you forget to tap off, you pay a €0.30 penalty. One card can pay for a group of up to 5 people, with a discount, and allows two changes within 60 minutes. Cash is paid to the driver, with notes up to €20, and a cash ticket doesn’t allow changes.
Luggage on the bus
On TIB buses you can take a piece of hand luggage up to 55 × 35 × 25 cm plus one other item per person, placed in the luggage space. Bulky items need the driver’s permission, and electric scooters are not allowed. Bikes, golf bags and several large suitcases are much easier in a taxi or a transfer.
Winter timetables
From 1 November, the summer lines A32 and A42 are replaced by winter lines: A33 (Port d’Alcúdia, Alcúdia, Sa Pobla and Inca) and A43 (Manacor and the towns on the way). Last winter they ran about every hour. A11 and A51 also run in winter, with lower frequencies. When we checked, TIB had not yet published the 2026–27 winter timetables, so check tib.org before you travel.
Bus or pre-booked transfer?
The bus is the cheapest option if you travel light and your hotel is near a stop. For families, groups or the north and east coasts, a transfer is often worth it:
- Faster: about 45–55 minutes by car to Can Picafort, compared with around 90 minutes on the A32, and straight to your door.
- Price per vehicle, not per person: from €105 to Can Picafort or €100 to Cala Millor for 1–4 passengers, with all their luggage.
- Any time of day or night, with your driver waiting at column 5 even if your flight is late.
